Last June 8, Mr. Jean Martel, associate at Lavery, was elected President of the Governance/Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors of the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). The Committee advises the Board of Directors of the BDC in matters of corporate governance. It also makes recommendations to the Board on questions such as the composition and mandates of the Board and its committees, and on the appointment or reappointment of the Chairperson, the directors, and the President and CEO.
The Chairpersons of the other main BDC committees of the Board, i.e. the Audit Committee, the Human Resources Committee, the Credit/Investment and Risk Committee and the Pension Funds Investment Committee, currently sit on the Governance/Nominating Committee of the BDC.
