Why do an articling program at Lavery ?

As an intern and a future lawyer with us, you will be given all the tools you need to achieve your ambitions. Lavery offers a stimulating work environment with exceptional guidance, tailored to your goals.

As soon you begin you internship at Lavery, you will be required to work closely with lawyers from each of our practice areas. You will collaborate on multiple case files and work on various tasks including:

  • Preparing to conduct and close commercial transactions
  • Drafting minutes, legal opinions and procedures
  • Representing in courts and before other bodies
  • Preparing for trials
  • Meeting clients
  • Playing a supportive role during negotiations
  • Preparing for and participating in interrogations

We promote collaborative work between our various practice groups. That is why we advocate rotating internships; our interns tend to handle a range of different case files to gain a better understanding of the reality of different practices.

We firmly believe that our interns of today are our lawyers of tomorrow.

Our corporate culture, which promotes collegiality and client sharing among our young lawyers and associates, will help you quickly build a clientele as a case lawyer. By the time you're hired, you will have already built the foundation of your business development network.
