Ana Cristina Nascimento is a paralegal specializing in security on movable property. She has been with the Business Law Group in our Montreal office since 1999.

 

As part of her duties, Ms. Nascimento performs searches in various registers, including the Register of personal and movable real rights, the registration system authorized under Section 427 of the Bank Act, the registration system maintained by the Superintendent of Bankruptcy, the court databases (Azimut-SOQUIJ), the Enterprise Register (CIDREQ) and the Personal Property Security Registration (PPSR). She also prepares applications for registration, in the Register of personal and movable real rights, of various rights such as movable hypothecs, rights arising out of leases, ownership rights of lessors, and reservations of title and other rights.

 

Ms. Nascimento analyzes search results and summarizes them in reports that are used by the lawyers in her group when they give legal advice. She is also involved in the drafting of agreements and other documents such as cessions of rank and powers of attorney, and in due diligence verifications and analysis done prior to the cancellation of securities on moveable property and other rights. She exchanges correspondence with clients and maintains privileged relationships with governmental authorities.
