BIOGRAPHY

Associate
Denis Michaud joined Lavery in 2006. He practises, more generally, in the areas of municipal and government affairs, environmental, energy and resources law, information and privacy, as well as labour and employment law. His specialties are municipal, labour, environmental and administrative law.

 

Prior to joining Lavery, Mr. Michaud worked as a manager in the public sector. As such, he was the director general of a municipality, as well as secretary general responsible for legal and institutional affairs and for the human resources department of a provincial Crown corporation in Quebec.

 

He was also a political attaché and chief of staff for several major government departments including Justice, the National Capital Region (Quebec), Environment and Transportation.

 

Several organizations have invited him to speak at conventions, conferences and summits in his areas of expertise.

 

In addition, Mr. Michaud was a lecturer in urban law at the faculty of law of Laval University and in environmental law for the CUFE at the Université de Sherbrooke.
