Louis Charette practises in the areas of civil and professional liability litigation, products liability and transportation and aviation law.

He also was a lecturer in civil procedure at the McGill University Faculty of Law.

Mr. Charette is also listed in the 2012 edition of Best Lawyers in Canada as a leading practitioner in the fields of Aviation and Transportation Law and Product Liability Law.

Representative work

• Represented the owner of a dam in a class action instituted following the flood in Saguenay.
• Represented the owner of a plant in proceedings alleging soil and water table contamination as a result of the operation of the plant.
• Represents the interests of professionals, including hospitals, real estate agents, accountants and engineers in civil liability proceedings and before administration tribunal.
• Represents manufacturers in proceedings in which design or manufacturing defects are alleged.
• Represents the interests of manufacturers regarding the implementation and management of recalls.
• Represents the interests of various air and road transportation stakeholders.
• Represents the interests of insurance brokers and of real estate agents and brokers in professional liability litigation.
