Odette Jobin-Laberge articled with the Quebec Court of Appeal before joining Lavery, de Billy where she has been a partner since 1989. In addition to practicing law in the field of general, damage and persons insurance, Ms. Jobin-Laberge actively participates in the preparation of written pleadings in appeal in the firm’s commercial civil litigation cases.

Ms. Jobin-Laberge has published numerous articles in law journals and is a regular lecturer in civil and insurance law, general and professional liability and civil procedure. She was a lecturer for ten years at the Université de Montréal for moot related to the interfaculty competition in civil and insurance law. She has also taught civil liability and insurance law at the Quebec Bar’s professional training school.

In 2006, the Quebec Bar presented a Mérite award to Ms. Jobin-Laberge. The Bar awards this honour to lawyers who have shown outstanding devotion and commitment to their professional association.

Ms. Jobin-Laberge is listed in The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory 2011 in the field of Litigation – Commercial Insurance. She is also recognized in the 2012 edition of the directory Best Lawyers in Canada in the field of Insurance Law.

Representative Work

• Actively participated in the pleading of a dozen cases in the Supreme Court, notably in matters of transport, finance, insurance and retail sales.
