Associate
Sophie Prégent is a counsel in our Business Law Group where she specializes in administrative law. Her practice is focused on environmental, energy and natural resources law, regulatory compliance as well as government relations. She also handles matters related to land use planning and development, natural resources management, Aboriginal law and penal law.
She acts both as an advisor and litigator to business clients from various industries, including agri-food, energy production, aeronautics, waste materials management, product manufacturing and real estate.
She advises clients on all aspects related to their business operations, including negotiation and drafting of agreements, project or activity compliance analysis, investigations and inspections, the process of obtaining approvals and permits, the development of environmental risk management strategies, the requirements respecting environmental assessments, emissions, hazardous materials management as well as contaminant discovery and the remediation of contaminated lands.
During her studies, she received achievement awards in municipal law and had the privilege of clerking for two judges of the Superior Court. She is on the Dean’s Honors List of the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal.
