Lavery is pleased to welcome Carolina Manganelli to the Administrative and Regulatory Law Group in the firm’s Montreal offices. Ms. Manganelli practises in the areas of aboriginal law, environmental law, energy and natural resources, mining law and government affairs.

She has extensive expertise in aboriginal law, constitutional law and human rights, and previously worked for several years at the Department of Justice of Canada, in the Aboriginal Affairs Portfolio, most recently as Executive Assistant in the office of the Assistant Deputy Attorney General. From 2000 to 2002, she participated in several international missions in Bosnia-Herzegovina for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) as well as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Ms. Manganelli has pleaded before several administrative tribunals as well as the Superior Court and Court of Appeal of Quebec. She has also represented clients before both the Quebec and Canadian Human Rights Commissions as well as the Police Ethics Commissioner.

Ms. Manganelli holds an LL.M. in human rights law with an award of "Merit" from University College London, in London, United Kingdom, and received her LL.B. and B.C.L. degrees from McGill University in 2000. She also obtained a B.A. in sociology, with a minor in Canadian ethnic studies, with distinction, from McGill in 1996. Ms. Manganelli has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2005.

She speaks fluent English, French, Italian and Greek, as well as Spanish and Serbo-Croatian.
