Shereen Cook is a member of the Business Law Group specializing in tax law. She joined Lavery as a student in the spring of 2016 after earning her civil law degree at the University of Ottawa.
In 2017, Shereen finished the bar admission course. She went on to obtain a specialized graduate diploma (DESS) in taxation at HEC Montréal, and then enrolled in their masters in taxation (LL.M.) program, which she is currently completing.
Shereen is passionate about tax law and its ramifications for businesses and corporations. This lead her to get actively involved in the business community by becoming the vice-president of the Young Lebanese Chamber of Commerce for a term of two years. During her mandate, she organized a major event to promote the initiatives of emerging companies.
In addition, Shereen believes strongly in volunteering and previously worked at the Clinique de droit notarial de l’Outaouais, where she had the opportunity to assist clients and give presentations to several community organizations. She also volunteered at the Concordia University Legal Information Clinic and for the Filipino Women’s Organization in Quebec (PINAY).
