Geneviève Côté joined the Lavery team in the summer of 2018. She completed a Bachelor of Law at Université Laval in 2016 and the Barreau du Québec’s professional training program in 2018.
In the course of her studies, Geneviève was, notably, a research and teaching assistant in Civil Law at the Law Faculty of Université Laval. As part of her duties, Geneviève produced a research report on the notion of negligence of victim and on certain other concepts related to civil liability. Furthermore, she was also hired as a professional researcher as part of an important project on limitations law, under the supervision of Frédéric Levesque, associate professor at Université Laval’s law faculty. As part of this project, she was thoroughly involved in developing and expanding the preliminary reports on limitations in municipal law, in matters of defamation and insurance.
Geneviève successfully managed her studies and the professional and social implications throughout her academic career while being a member in more than 10 student bodies of the Faculty of Law.
In 2013, Geneviève was awarded the excellence scholarship during her admission in the Bachelor of Law program at Université Laval.
