Laury joined Lavery following the 2017 articling recruiting process ("Course aux stages") with a view to completing her articles for the Barreau du Québec with the firm in 2019. In 2018, she graduated with a bachelor of law degree from the University of Ottawa, summa cum laude (with the highest distinction).
In her very first year of the bachelor of law program, she validated her choice of career, among other things, by participating in a simulated trial dealing with the issue of consent to care. She was also involved in a number of other activities during her legal studies, including volunteering for the mentorship program of the AEEDCO (Association of Students in Civil Law of the Outaouais) at the university, working as a research assistant in human rights law, and co-founding and chairing the criminal law committee.
Laury was on the Dean's honour roll of the faculty of law and won a number of prizes for excellence in her studies. In particular, she received the silver medal from the University of Ottawa and the plaque from the faculty of law, both of which are awarded to the student who achieves the second-highest grade point average in the entire program.
