  1. Lavery and Marie Cossette inspire professional ambition in women

    Marie Cossette, a partner at the firm and one of the leaders of the first cohort in the L’effet A initiative in Quebec City, has set up a challenge for participants who have chosen her as a leader. She has recruited participants from both the culturaland corporate world thus  creating interesting networking opportunities. Four Lavery lawyers (Paméla Kelly-Nadeau, Chloé Fauchon,Sarah Leclerc and Anthonie Vézina-Crawford) have taken the Défi 100 jours L’effet A (link to French-only website): a unique professional training program with an innovative approach that identifies talent and encourages women to adopt a more ambitious attitude that will help boost their careers. The experience is based on three pillars: 1) inspiration- the implication of well-known leaders and coaches, 2) action- by taking up challenges and completing exercises and 3) sharing,-through interaction with women from all professional spheres.

  2. Anthonie Vézina-Crawford speaks at an APFF conference in Montreal

    Me Anthonie Vézina-Crawford, a lawyer from Lavery’s Family, Personal, and Estate Law group, discussed the rules governing the dissolution of a matrimonial regime as well as the partition of the family patrimony and wills all in the event of a death at a conference held on September 15th on settling estates (Colloque sur le règlement des successions)  organized by the Association de Planification Fiscale et Financière in Montreal.

  3. Anthonie Vézina-Crawford and Paméla Kelly-Nadeau organized “Québec 1608”, an original event bringing together the new generation of professionals

    On June 17, 2016, Lavery – Québec’s new generation invited its counterparts at Ernst & Young – Québec to a unique networking activity entitled “Québec 1608”, which was held at Station touristique Duchesnay. Instead of a traditional cocktail, Anthonie Vézina-Crawford and Paméla Kelly-Nadeau, two lawyers from Lavery, organized a friendly competition that drew on teamwork skills and mental and physical abilities. The accountants and lawyers pretended to be pioneers and faced a series of tasks with the goal to build a pioneer village. They built a church, planted a vegetable garden, ensured the transportation of water from a well, and participated in a giant vegetable hunt. Fun and team spirit were at the heart of this truly original activity, which proved to be a great success!

  4. Élisabeth Pinard and Anthonie Vézina-Crawford speakers at a conference on the estate settlement

    On June 2, 2016, Élisabeth Pinard, partner at Lavery who coordinates the firm's Family law, personal law, and estate law group and Anthonie Vézina-Crawford, lawyer in the same field, participated in a conference on the estate settlement organized by the "Association de Planification Fiscale et Financière" (APFF). Both of them acted as speakers during a presentation entitled "Règles gouvernant la dissolution du régime matrimonial, le partage du patrimoine familial et le testament dans un contexte de décès" given in French only.

  5. Lavery at the Pentathlon des neiges Corporate Challenge

    On February 20, five lawyers from Lavery’s Quebec City office participated in the Pentathlon des neiges Corporate Challenge on Quebec City’s Plains of Abraham. Profits from the event will go to the “À l’école, moi j’bouge” project, which enables youngsters from low-income families to participate in after-school activities. Bernard Roy began the event on bike, followed by Chloé Fauchon on foot, Anthonie Vézina-Crawford on cross-country skis, François Bélanger on skates, and Sylvain Pierrard on snowshoes.   6. Bernard Roy and Anthonie Vézina-Crawford from Lavery will be speaking at the APFF on alternative methods of assessment used by tax authorities

    Bernard Roy, partner and Anthonie Vézina-Crawford, associate from Lavery  will be giving a conference at the L’Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF) on January 21st, 2016 in Québec City. The speakers will address the alternative methods of assessment used by tax authorities, how the courts interpret this and the impact of the use of such methods by taxpayers.   7. Lavery takes part in the Salon des ressources en entreprenariat 2015

    On November 19, 2015, the Quebec campus of CÉGEP Limoilou held the Salon des ressources en entreprenariat 2015, an event part of the Canada - Global Entrepreneurship Week. On this occasion, Ms. Anthonie Vézina-Crawford and Mr. Sylvain Pierrard of Lavery held a stand to present and inform the entrepreneurial community on the firm and the Lavery GO inc. Program.   8. Five Lavery lawyers at the Salon Carrière Formation de Québec 2015

    On October 23 and 24, 2015, five lawyers from Lavery’s Quebec office participated in the Salon Carrière Formation de Québec in order to promote the Lavery GO inc. Program.   9. Lavery holds a roundtable on entrepreneurship

    On September 25, 2015, Lavery’s Quebec City office welcomed three speakers for a roundtable on entrepreneurship. Germain Lamonde of EXFO, Geneviève Babin of Groupe Renaud and Dominic Gagnon of Connect&Go discussed their entrepreneurial journey with about 20 young entrepreneurs from the region. Organized by Anthonie Vézina-Crawford and Chloé Fauchon, associates at Lavery, this conference was a great success.
