  1. Three Lavery lawyers named as rising stars in the legal profession by Best Lawyers

    On August 26, 2021, Best Lawyers in Canada released the results of a new initiative to recognize the rising stars in the Canadian legal profession. The results of the Ones to Watch survey that was held among the Canadian legal community identified three Lavery lawyers as rising stars in their respective fields of expertise: Dominic Boisvert: Insurance Law Charles Ceelen-Brasseur: Corporate Law Chloé Fauchon: Municipal Law These recognitions are further demonstration of the expertise and quality of legal services that characterize Lavery’s professionals.

  3. The Lavery AI Grant offered with Montréal inc. awarded to Arthur Intelligence Inc.

    On June 6, Charles Ceelen-Brasseur, head of the Lavery GO inc program, awarded the AI grant that Lavery provides in partnership with Montréal inc. to the start-up Arthur Intelligence Inc. The company offers a cloud-based, SaaS solution to make management and decision-making easier for dental clinics. The Lavery AI Grant is meant for artificial intelligence start-ups. In addition to $15,000, it gives winners access to all the services offered by Montréal inc. as well as legal advising services appropriate for new businesses in the industry.

  4. Lavery hires five of its articling students

    Lavery is pleased to announce that it has hired five of its articling students as associates. Daphnée Anctil and Charles Ceelen-Brasseur have joined the Business Law group with the Montréal office; Chantal Saint-Onge and Yaoqi Wang have joined the Litigation and Conflict Resolution group with the Montréal office; Andrée-Anne Perras-Fortin has joined the Business Law group with the Sherbrooke office and will also practise with the Lavery Legal Lab on Artificial Intelligence (L3AI); “We are very proud to welcome talent like Daphnée, Charles, Chantal, Yaoqi and Andrée-Anne into the Lavery family. They have distinguished themselves by their quality of work, dedication and ongoing pursuit of excellence,” commented Loïc Berdnikoff, Director of Professional Development.

  5. A Lavery team participates in the 5th edition of Juritour

    On September 17, a team of four firm members participated in the 5th edition of the Juritour bike-a-thon that started and finished at the Les Trois Tilleuls inn in Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu. Composed of Daphnée Anctil, Loïc Berdnikoff, Charles Ceelen-Brasseur and Sonia Rasquinha, the Lavery team pedalled 45 km along the Richelieu shores for the benefit of Cystic Fibrosis Canada and the Fondation l’air d’Aller. The event raised a grand total of over $142,000 for the two organizations that conduct research and offer care to people suffering from cystic fibrosis. Daphnée Anctil and Sonia Rasquinha

  6. Lavery rides for the fight against prostate cancer

    On June 18, a Lavery team participated in the 8th edition of the Tour du Courage PROCURE to raise funds to fight prostate cancer through research, awareness, information, and support for men afflicted by this disease and their families. The Lavery team biked up Mount Royal 12 times in 2 h 36 and raised $5,250, in recognition of the 12 men diagnosed with prostate cancer every day in Quebec.

  7. Lavery on the podium at the St-Lambert Triathlon

    About 10 members of the firm took part to various sports during the 28th edition of the St-Lambert Triathlon, on July 11, 2015. This prestigious event, which gathered over 700 athletes, is organized by the St-Lambert Triathlon Club, which Nicolas Joubert, a Lavery partner, cofounded. Lavery has been a partner of this provincial competition for over a decade. For another year, the firm has held its own. The remarkable performances of Lavery’s team needs to be highlighted, notably Zila Savary (swimming), Isabelle Richard (biking) and Judith Houle-Couture (running), silver medallists in the category “Triathlon Women Relay”, as well as Stéphanie Destrempes, Anne-Sophie Lamonde and Charles Ceelen-Brasseur, medallists in the 5K run in their respective categories.
