Raymond Doray, Ad.E., inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers

Montreal, March 9, 2011 – Lavery is pleased to announce that Mr. Raymond Doray, Ad.E., was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers on March 5, 2011, during its 61st Spring Meeting held in San Antonio, Texas.

The College is devoted to improving the standards of trial practice, the system of justice and the ethics of the trial bar. Its newly-revised Code of Pretrial and Trial Conduct articulates aspirational standards of conduct far more demanding than the minima set forth in ethical and civility codes.

The American College of Trial Lawyers is the only professional organization in the world to count among its members every member of the Supreme Court of the United States and every member of the Supreme Court of Canada.

As a member of the administrative law team at Lavery, Raymond Doray heads the information law practice and, more particularly, is involved in issues pertaining to access to information, privacy and defamation as well as the application of the Canadian and Quebec charters of rights and freedoms. He also specializes in constitutional law.

Since 2002, he has written, and continually updates, a 2,000-page treatise on rights of access to information and the protection of personal information.

“We are very proud of Raymond Doray’s induction into the American College of Trial Lawyers because it is a recognition of his remarkable legal knowledge as well as his expertise and ethical conduct in litigation before judicial courts and administrative tribunals,” Élise Poisson, Managing Partner, declared.

With Raymond Doray’s induction, eight of Lavery’s lawyers are currently members or fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
