Associate

Chloé Fauchon is a member of the Administrative law group. She acts as legal counsel to several municipalities and public bodies. Ms. Fauchon represents companies and individuals in cases against public authorities, whether they be municipalities or any other level of government or public body. She also participates in public and administrative inquiries. 

Chloé is also interested in the entertainment industry and more specifically in copyright.

During her legal studies, Ms. Fauchon participated in the prestigious pan-Canadian Laskin moot court competition in administrative and constitutional law, where her team took top honours with the Jeremy Oliver Prize. As a finalist, she had the opportunity to plead before the Honourable Ian Binnie, a former justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.

During one semester, Ms. Fauchon did a legal internship with the department of legal affairs at the ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition féminine and the ministère de l’Éducation, des Loisirs et des Sports.

Upon completing her bachelor of law degree, Ms. Fauchon was awarded the Municipal law scholarship from the UMQ, the ADGMQ, and the COMAQ for having written on a subject of interest to municipalities and for her entire academic record; she was also awarded the Pierre-Cimon Fund Scholarship for her outstanding performance at the Laskin moot court competition.

Before working as a law student at Lavery in 2012, she worked for another law firm in the Lower St. Lawrence region.

Representative mandates

  • Represented a company contesting an administrative fine issued by the ministère de l’Environnement (MDDELCC)
  • Represented various municipalities during injunction proceedings instituted pursuant to the Environment Quality Act
  • Assist the independant counsel for the Canadian Judicial Council during the public inquiry regarding the Honourable Michel Girouard
  • Assist the chief prosecutor for the coroner’s office in the public inquiry regarding the fire at the Résidence du Havre in L’Isle Verte 
  • Participate in the representation of a corporation in an action in nullity against a ministry decision
  • Participate in the representation of an individual in an action in civil liabililty against a municipality
  • Participate in the representation of a city official in an action challenging his removal from office before the Tribunal administratif du travail and subsequently in judicial review before the Superior Court
