Siddhartha is a lawyer specializing in transactional and commercial law. On a day-to-day basis, he works with start-ups, SMEs and established companies alike. Siddhartha is passionate about major public transit projects and the green transition. He is also a member of the firm’s Infrastructures and Major Projects group.

He is recognized for his commitment to sustainable development, including his participation in the “Impactful Generation” intrapreneurship program offered by the JCCM. As part of this experience, he set himself the challenge of initiating a dialogue on urban mobility at the firm.

Ever the optimist, Siddhartha believes that the creativity, expertise and perseverance of local entrepreneurs will allow us to face the challenges of today and tomorrow, particularly with respect to the protection and sustainability of water resources in Canada and around the world. He is involved in this field through the firm’s partnership with AquaAction, giving him the opportunity to advise a number of innovators seeking revolutionary water protection technology.

Recognizing his privilege, he places great importance on giving back to his community. Having completed the JCCM’s Young Administrators Network training, he has been a member of the board of directors of his elementary school foundation in the Estrie region since December 2023.

  • Diffusion Solutions Intégrées (Progression) (2025). Siddhartha assisted Progression, an innovative IT services firm, in its acquisition by Valsoft Corporation
  • AquaAction (2024 to present). Siddhartha serves members of AquaNation and the participants of the various competitions organized by AquaAction to drive innovation in water technology.
  • Groupe Nouveau Pont Île-aux-Tourtes Inc. (2023–2024). Siddhartha assisted Groupe Nouveau Pont Île-aux-Tourtes Inc., a joint venture of Canadian and international shareholders, in concluding the various agreements required for the hybrid debt and bonds financing of the design and construction of the new Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge in Montréal. As part of this mandate, Siddhartha managed the closing of the transaction and ensured that the conditions for project financing were met, working closely with the various stakeholders and their legal advisors.

  1. Lavery advises Fresnillo on strategic transaction in Quebec

    Fresnillo plc, the world's largest primary silver producer and a major player in the gold sector in Mexico, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Canadian company Probe Gold Inc. for a total consideration of approximately CAD 780 million. This transaction, carried out through a statutory plan of arrangement, marks a crucial step for Fresnillo in its international expansion strategy. Listed on the London and Mexican stock exchanges, Fresnillo strengthens its position as a global leader in precious metals with this acquisition. By integrating Probe's assets, including the flagship Novador project in the Val-d’Or gold district of Quebec, Fresnillo expands its project portfolio and establishes a presence in one of Canada's most promising mining areas. Lavery is proud to advise Fresnillo on the legal aspects of this acquisition in Quebec. Our team provided expertise in mining law, labor and employment law, real estate law, environmental law, and relations with First Nations.   2. Lavery supports Desjardins Capital investment in Chagall Design

    In October, Desjardins Capital announced a major investment in Chagall Design, a leading Canadian furniture manufacturer headquartered in Sainte-Julie. As a minority shareholder, Desjardins Capital will provide not only financial support but also strategic guidance to help Chagall Design consolidate its business plan and pursue its development goals. The ambitious business is currently expanding its activities into the United States and preparing to penetrate the European market with a view to diversifying and seizing new opportunities. Lavery had the privilege of representing Desjardins Capital for this investment.
