    Louis Charette, Guillaume Lavoie, Judith Houle-Couture and Guillaume Synnott participated in a speed-coaching event on December 8 during which volunteers provided quick consultations to entrepreneurs.  During the evening, our lawyers acted as coaches to answer questions related to business financing, commercial law, insurance law, commercial litigation and franchise law. This approach, suggested by the Fondation Montréal Inc., is greatly appreciated by all participants as it is tailored to their specific needs.   5. Lavery proud to pursue its tradition of contribution to the development of entrepreneurship by supporting Fondation Montréal inc.

    Lavery, through its Lavery GO inc. Program and Lavery Capital group makes an aggregate $25,000 donation ($5,000 annually over five years) to Fondation Montréal inc., while supplying the services of five volunteer-lawyers to act as coaches over the same period. In addition to Guillaume Lavoie, a business law partner, and Louis Charette, a litigation partner at Lavery, both long time volunteers at the Fondation, the following lawyers will lend a hand to the Fondation’s initiatives, which include supporting start-up businesses and awarding grants to new entrepreneurs: Nicolas Joubert, labour, employment and immigration law partner; Marie-Hélène Jolicoeur, labour and employment law partner; and Judith Houle-Couture, business law associate. This donation and this volunteering follow a well-established tradition of Lavery of support to the development of entrepreneurship. While the Lavery GO inc.   6. Louis Rochette on the board of directors of the Société du Grand Théâtre de Québec

    On November 11, 2015, the Quebec Cabinet proceeded to numerous nominations, including Louis Rochette’s, a Lavery partner, as independant member and Chair of the board of directors of the Société du Grand Théâtre de Québec.   10. Louis Charette and Emil Vidrascu of Lavery speakers at Les journéés de l’ABQ on November 6

    On November 6th, Messrs. Louis Charette and Emil Vidrascu, partners in Lavery’s Commercial Litigation group, gave conferences at the Journées de l’ABQ (Association Béton Québec). This conference doubled as technical training on granulates and on the responsibilities of concrete producers. Mr. Charette spoke about the ‘Responsibilities and Obligations of Concrete Producers’ (Responsabilités et obligations des producteurs de béton), while Mr. Vidrascu gave a conference on ‘Everything You Need To Know about the Competition Act’ (Tout sur la loi sur la concurrence). In the wake of the Charbonneau Commission and its allusions to collusion, this training day provided practical insights and best practices tools for the participating producers.
