During his university studies, Simon-Charles was actively involved with the student community. He began as a class representative and went on to be Vice President of Communications for the University of Montreal's business law and management commitee.

During his last year, he was Vice President of Student Life for the University of Montreal's law students association, being responsible for coordinating numerous activities intended to strengthen the sense of belonging and faculty life.
