Yen cares about giving back to her community and has been actively involved in legal clinics during her studies. She worked as a junior caseworker at the Legal Information Clinic at McGill and as a volunteer at the Clinique juridique of Saint-Michel.

She will soon begin her second year with the Asian Law Student's Association (AEAD) as Vice-President of Sponsorships, where she helps organize events that promote Asian representation in the legal field.
