Profile

Catherine is a member of Lavery’s Litigation group. She focuses her practice on health law. She works with healthcare and social services institutions and organizations, advising and representing them in all types of matters relating to their operations and in hospital liability proceedings, including class-action lawsuits.

Before beginning her studies in law, Catherine earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Université Laval. She then worked in the healthcare system for five years, including three years as a clinical nurse. Through her experience, she developed a keen interest in access to healthcare and in finding concrete solutions to improve Quebec’s healthcare system.

During her university studies, she came in first in a legal writing competition on health law organized by the Comité du droit de la santé (health law committee) at Université Laval, in collaboration with a specialized law firm. She also distinguished herself at the 2023 Coupe Jacques Deslauriers, where she and her colleague received the award for best pleading duo for a respondent.

Catherine is known for her attention to detail, her professionalism and her compassionate demeanour.

    Lavery is pleased to announce the arrival of Catherine LaRose, a lawyer in the Litigation group whose practice focuses on health law. With five years of experience in the health care system, including three years as a clinical nurse, she now brings her expertise to institutions and organizations in the sector, advising and representing them on all matters related to their activities, including hospital liability and class actions. Her nursing studies at Université Laval enabled her to develop a strong interest in issues relating to access to care and in improving Québec’s health care system.
