Valérie Belle-Isle is a member of the administrative law team in our Québec City offices. She advises and represents municipalities in matters relating to land use planning and development, environment, expropriation, municipal taxation and labour relations. Ms. Belle-Isle has in fact given training in municipal law to various organizations.
Ms. Belle-Isle also advises and represents businesses with regards to obtaining permits and certificates, expropriation or contestation of property valuations, and in litigation matters related to environmental obligations such as land decontamination.
In the field of labour relations, Ms. Belle-Isle represents a client base which includes businesses and municipalities before the Tribunal administratif du travail, grievance arbitrators and courts of general jurisdiction. She also advises employers in the drafting of employment contracts, confidentiality and non-competition agreements, in the interpretation and application of collective agreements, and in the handling of employee complaints in respect of individual and collective dismissal and layoffs.
She obtained a scholarship from the Council of Canadian Law Deans as part of an exchange program between Université Laval and the University of Western Ontario.
