  1. A new partner joins Lavery

    Lavery is pleased to welcome Geneviève Beaudin, as a new partner in the Labour and Employment Law Group. Geneviève advises and represents companies under provincial and federal jurisdiction in their individual and collective labour relations. In this capacity, she deals with cases involving grievance adjudication, human rights, labour standards and access to information. She has also developed strong expertise in drafting opinions, arguments and factums in labour and employment law litigation. Geneviève represents companies in court, before various arbitral and administrative tribunals, and in mediation processes.

  3. Four new members join Lavery’s ranks

    Lavery is pleased to announce that four recently sworn-in lawyers are joining Lavery following the completion of their articling within the firm. Ayman El Alamy joins our Litigation and Conflict Resolution group and practices mainly in civil litigation and insurance law. "Working at Lavery means that you get the chance to be involved very quickly in stimulating projects while benefitting from learning-centred supervision and a friendly work environment imbued with a strong spirit of collegiality." Maria Ionele joins the Labor and Employment Law Group. She joined Lavery in October 2021 as a student and completed her articling term at the firm in 2022. "Lavery was the obvious choice for me. There, I encountered an authentic team of passionate and inspiring professionals. It's the ideal firm for developing as a legal professional. The cases are exciting and collaboration between colleagues is emphasized, making for a stimulating work environment." Sofia Khan joins the Labor and Employment team. She completed her articling term at the firm in 2022. She completed her B.A. in Civil Law Cooperative at the University of Ottawa in 2020 and her B.A. in Common Law under the National J.D. Program at the University of Ottawa in 2022. "What has marked me the most in my time at Lavery is the passion, determination and collaborative spirit of all the professionals that I have worked with. I am now starting my career in labour law, with the opportunity to be involved in major cases, to collaborate with experts in the field and to be surrounded by mentors who have my professional development at heart." Philippe Vachon joins the Administrative Law team.   4. Lavery appoints three new partners

    Lavery is pleased to welcome the following professionals as partners in the firm. Sylvain Pierrard – Québec Sylvain Pierrard is a lawyer and trademark agent in the firm’s Business law and the Intellectual Property groups. He focuses his practice on trademarks, copyright, corporate and commercial law. Frédéric Laflamme – Trois-Rivières Frédéric Laflamme is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution group. His practice is focused on matters involving civil and commercial litigation, such as civil liability, construction law and shareholder disputes. He is called upon to represent Canadian and foreign companies, insurers, manufacturers, contractors and shareholders before Quebec’s superior courts, and to advise them on settling their disputes. Vincent Towner – Sherbrooke Vincent Towner is a member of the Business law group. He frequently collaborates in matters involving corporate reorganizations and business transactions. Mr. Towner also drafts contracts such as commercial leases, service agreements, and supply agreements. This cohort of new partners plays a crucial role in the growth of the firm and our desire to be a growth partner for companies doing business in Quebec.     Lavery is delighted to welcome Mélanie Meunier as a Senior Lawyer Knowledge Management and a member of Lavery’s Business Law group. Drawing on her expertise and experience, she works alongside our professional staff devising and implementing strategies and initiatives relating to knowledge management and new legal technologies. In addition, she develops continuing education content designed to enhance the quality and efficiency of the group’s client service delivery.   6. Lavery Welcomes a New Partner in the Business Law Group

    Lavery is delighted to welcome a new partner, Véronik Bonneville-Pesant, to the Business Law Group to the Montréal office. Her practice is focused mainly on mergers and acquisitions, commercial law and corporate law. She brings a cutting-edge expertise and a practice approach  in the energy sector. More specifically, she brings experience in infrastructure projects and renewable energy investments. Before joining Lavery, Me Bonneville-Pesant was Vice-President of Legal Affairs at a pioneering company in the Canadian wind industry that is very active in the development of renewable energy projects. She has also developed an extensive expertise in corporate governance. Because of her experience, she plays a central role in negotiating and drafting agreements related to the inception and implementation of private investment funds, especially in the wind energy sector, as well as agreements related to the development, acquisition and financing of renewable energy projects.
