  1. Evelyne Verrier panelist at the 2017 Insurance and Investment Convention

    Evelyne Verrier, a partner and head of the Distribution of Financial Products and Services group, served as a panelist during the 2017 Insurance and Investment Convention organized by The Insurance & Investment Journal. The Convention was held on November 14 at the Palais des congrès in Montréal. Entitled Robots-conseillers et conseillers: ennemis jurés ou partenaires?, the purpose of the panel was to discuss the evolving role of advisors in an age when FinTech and accelerated technological developments are becoming increasingly prevalent in the insurance industry. Accompanied by Alex Veilleux, Co-Owner, Chief Innovation Officer and Product Strategist at VOOBAN and Michel Bergeron, a partner in EY, Ms. Verrier took the opportunity to share her view of the future for insurance advisors, the types of high value-added activities that advisors can use to distinguish themselves and the liability issues associated with various technological tools available to advisors.

  2. Evelyne Verrier and Jonathan Lacoste-Jobin speakers at the Journée de l’assurance de dommages

    Évelyne Verrier, a partner at Lavery who holds a degree in actuarial science and coordinates the Distribution of financial products and services group and whose practice focuses primarily on civil litigation and insurance, and Jonathan Lacoste-Jobin, a lawyer in the firm’s Litigation group who practises primarily in insurance law, professional liability, and commercial litigation, were speakers at the 5th edition of the Journée de l'assurance de dommages held on March 15 at Palais des Congrès de Montréal that brought together hundreds of industry participants. They participated in a panel that covered both the regulation of the online sale of insurance and a “share economy” in a digital world.   3. Mary Delli Quadri, speaker at CLHIA

    Mary Delli Quadri, an associate at Lavery, was a speaker at the annual meeting of the legal division of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association ("CLHIA"), held in Halifax from September 30 to October 2. Lavery sponsored the event and was also represented by Ms. Evelyne Verrier. On this occasion, Ms. Delli Quadri reviewed recent Quebec case laws before counsels working for life and health insurance companies and external lawyers present by invitation.

  4. Evelyne Verrier, co-lecturer of the CLHIA

    On May 7, 2015, Evelyne Verrier, a Litigation partner at Lavery, was co-lecturer at the 2015 Claims Section Annual Conference of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) held at Niagara Falls from May 6 to May 8, 2015. This conference discussed various subjects of interest relating to the life and health insurance industry, such as a review of recent case law.

  5. Evelyne Verrier takes part in a conference on legal file processes

    On April 23, 2015, Evelyne Verrier, a Litigation partner at Lavery, presented a conference entitled «Les divers recours judiciaires: comment vous y retrouver et comme vous y préparer!» (The various legal proceedings: how to find your way through it and be prepared!) during a private event organized by a group of insurers and claims adjusters in damage insurance. This conference discussed the process of legal cases, the new Code of Civil Procedure, and how to properly prepare files and testimonies presented in contentious cases.

  6. Evelyne Verrier of Lavery, guest panelist at the Damage Insurance Day 2015

    On March 17, 2015, Evelyne Verrier, litigation partner at Lavery, was a guest panelist during the Journée de l’assurance de dommages 2015 (Damage Insurance Day 2015), an event organized by Le journal de l’assurance. For this event, she co-hosted  a lecture entitled “Fraude à l’assurance : comment combattre le fléau!” (Insurance Fraud: How to Fight this Scourge!), which allowed professionals from this industry to offer possible solutions to this phenomenon. Held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, the Journée de l’assurance de dommages is an annual conference presenting seminars on various issues relating to damage insurance. Lavery is proud to be a partner of this major event that brings together insurers, brokers, agents and claims adjusters.

  8. Evelyne Verrier participates in the Canadian Institute’s advanced conference on claim and litigation management in disability insurance

    On January 19 and 20, 2015, Ms. Evelyne Verrier, a partner at Lavery who practices mainly in civil litigation and insurance, served as Co-President and speaker at the Canadian Institute’s advanced conference on claim and litigation management in disability insurance (Conférence avancée sur la gestion des réclamations et litiges en assurance invalidité de l’Institut Canadien).
