Sylvie Parent has been a paralegal at Lavery specializing in labour and employment law since 1999. Before joining Lavery, she worked for five years as a labour law paralegal for a firm representing unions. Over the years, she has also acquired expertise in the field of real estate law.
Ms. Parent primarily assists lawyers by conducting legal research in areas including occupational health and safety in preparation for court hearings and presentations. She also supports the team with matters related to various motions.
Ms. Parent has also created a monthly newsletter summarizing the activities of the lawyers in the labour and employment group and prepares summaries of recent legislative and case law developments in their area of expertise.
In addition, Ms. Parent handles the training of students and articling students in the use of computer tools related to labour law.
