Yvan Biron is a member of the Environmental Energy and Natural Resources Group. Over the past few years, he acquired a vast experience in investigations, inspections, environmental authorizations and negotiations with the various agencies responsible for environmental protection, resource development and land management.

Mr. Biron serves as both counsel and litigator to his clients; more specifically, he manages the environmental authorization process (including impact assessment and review procedures). He is also called upon to negotiate distinctive rights such as hydro-electric power operations or electrical transmission line servitudes. He pleads before courts, on a regular basis, on issues ranging from land use planning to the defense of criminal charges in environmental cases.

His clients include municipalities, environmental services companies (e.g. waste transportation and disposal), ore mining and processing industries as well as businesses in the energy sector.

Mr. Biron's practice is also in the forefront in water and forestry management.

Mr. Biron has lectured at the Université du Québec à Montréal in Environmental law. He has also collaborated with the Continuing Education Faculty at Université de Montréal on corporate training programs in administrative law. In addition, he has been a member of the Examining Committee of the Quebec Bar for over 10 years.
