Over the course of her studies, Isabel has worked with the Research Group on Health and Law as a coordinator, and with the McGill Journal of Law and Health as an editor. She also volunteered with Interval-1175 and En-Vero Canada through the Pro Bono Students Canada program. 

Further, Isabel interned in Peru in the context of the McGill International Human Rights Internship program, and worked as a research assistant at the McGill Centre of Genomics and Policy. 

Prior to her legal studies, Isabel obtained a B.Sc. in pharmacology from McGill, where she was involved in research on HIV and on the maternity care experiences of migrant women.
