BIOGRAPHY

Patrice Racicot practises primarily in the fields of bankruptcy, business recovery and reorganization, and commercial litigation.
 
He handles all aspects of insolvency including business recoveries and reorganizations under both the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
 
Mr. Racicot has broad experience in the law of security interests and regularly acts for financial institutions in the obtaining of security and the drafting of credit agreements in connection with business recoveries and reorganizations.
 
He also represents financial institutions before the Superior Court of Quebec in proceedings relating to the protection of their assets and the realization of their security. In particular, Mr. Racicot has extensive experience in the exercise of remedies under mortgages in the contexts of proceedings for the appointment of interim receivers and petitions in bankruptcy relating to
businesses.
 
A substantial part of Mr. Racicot's practice is also devoted to commercial litigation and construction law.
 
He was awarded the Harry Batshaw Prize for excellence in civil liberties by the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal in 1992.
